If there ever was an album for lonely fall and a hardening heart this is surely it. Justin Vernon’s Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago has got to be the sweetest most, dead-on album about love and the heart and the spirit I’ve heard in a while… in almost ever, actually. Beautifully produced strums, strings, transcendent falsettos which might ride hard into booming, wrenching bellows or flitter off into the gliss of steel strings with the ease of a naturally expressive singer, roomy, driving percussion, and the most elegant, subtle and exciting use of a vocoder I’ve ever heard. I can’t seem to get over it.
